Key Responsibilities: Instructs students, using various teaching methods, such as lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content field. Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops. All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
Key Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher required. Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred. Makes recommendations and/or decisions which usually affect the entire school. Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC. Field(s)/Endorsement(s): Music (P-12). Normal classroom/school setting. Must be able to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less.

Position: Artistic Director - Concert Band

Job Description: Atlanta Freedom Bands seeks an Artistic Director for its Concert Band ensemble, the Atlanta Freedom Concert Band. The Artistic Director is the ensemble’s music director and conductor. The Artistic Director ensures artistic excellence in all musical aspects of the Concert Band’s activities, including concerts, artistic partnerships, the Student Composer Residency Program, and outreach activities. The successful candidate should be experienced in performance and rehearsal practice with volunteer community musicians at different skill levels.
The Artistic Director is expected to bring a broad and deep knowledge of the wind band repertoire to the task of creating compelling concerts for the musicians and audience. The Artistic Director will take into consideration AFB’s organizational values to include a diverse collection of composers and artists on concert programs. The Artistic Director should also be prepared to advance the interest and mission of Atlanta Freedom Bands and be a public face. The Artistic Director must be an excellent communicator and leader with a commitment to working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, musicians, and volunteers.
This is a part-time position that involves some nights and weekends based on the schedule of concert activities and events. Rehearsals currently take place on Sunday evenings from 6 to 8 PM. The Artistic Director will be available to maintain regular communication with organization leaders and participants. The Artistic Director will join a highly collaborative leadership team. The Artistic Director will report to the President of the Board of Directors and have the support of the Board of Directors as well as support from the Associate Director, the Concert Band Team, the Librarian, section leaders, and the Marketing and Development staff.

Bethel Methodist Church, a caring and welcoming multicultural congregation, seeks a part-time Director of Music Ministries. This spiritual leader will be an instrument of God using their gifts to assist spiritual growth through music and arts. Responsibilities will be coordinating, planning, and implementing a comprehensive music ministry for the congregation and community, including adults, youth, and children. Currently, Bethel is meeting for one worship service at 11:00. There may be multiple worship services in the future, offered Sundays or on a week-day evening. Chorus rehearsals are held at 6:45pm on Wednesday evenings, for one hour and the choir meets prior to the Sunday service at 10:30am. Praise band rehearsals are held at 6:45pm on Thursday evenings, for one hour. .Experience leading contemporary, traditional and blended worship services and working with audio equipment will be helpful.

Job Description: The Villa Rica High School Band Program has an opening for a highly qualified and dynamic candidate to fill the Colorguard Tech position for the 2025-2026 school year.
The candidate will possess a strong background in the competitive marching band arena. The candidate should have some level of experience and proven success within the WGI and SAPA competitive performance circuits. The candidate must possess strong pedagogy in body movement, and high skills with all performance equipment.
Responsibilities include teaching colorguard class two or three times a week, teaching choreography, attending all summer rehearsals, football games, competitions, and community performances. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.

Program Summary:
The Memory Lane Jazz Ensemble is part of the Cobb New Horizons Organization. The Ensemble has been together for more than a decade and was founded by its first director, Carl Merwin. The Ensemble has 19 seasoned musicians who perform a variety of traditional big band, swing, dance, jazz, and popular compositions including vocals. We currently play over 200 arrangements. The ensemble performs several times throughout the year for community and private events including fundraisers, concerts, dinners, and dances.
Primary Duties:
- Serve as Director for the Memory Lane Jazz Ensemble
- Coordinate and Collaborate with Cobb New Horizons Vice Presidents on aspects of scheduling performances.
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with the community.
- Maintain an active and ongoing recruiting presence in the band and community.
- Participate in Cobb New Horizons Board Meetings as needed.
- Select and purchase (as needed) the music to be performed.
- Must be able to effectively teach and rehearse the music.
- Coordinate with Jazz Ensemble Music Librarians as needed.
- Coordinate with Jazz Ensemble Equipment Crew with transportation of equipment to and from gigs.
- Communicates with ensemble members via email providing playlists for rehearsals and performances. Communications will include directions and schedules for all performances.
- Coordinates with Jazz Ensemble Audio Crew on setting up and tearing down the audio system.

The jazz band rehearses on Monday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the old Brandsmart facility on the campus of Kennesaw State University located at 3305 Busbee Drive NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The New Horizons Bands normally are inactive from the second week in December until the second week in January. The Monday prior to July 4th is usually an off day as is Labor Day each year.
Preferred Requirements:
1 Educational Level: Minimum of a Bachelor of Music or Music Education degree
2 Previously or currently holds a K-12 teaching certificate and/or has 5+ years experience
3 Record of successful experience leading an advanced jazz ensemble with references
4 Record of successful teaching experience with references
5 Demonstrates rehearsal and teaching skills by working with the Memory Lane Jazz Ensemble for one rehearsal.
